This seems to be carved on a wall, and the colours comings from coloured lights everywhere. Very good!

To all - thank you for your wonderful comments. The texturing was started in doodads, but finished in PaintShop Pro. To get the lighting & colors, I used the multiply function for several layers. And voila!
