Description

I noticed that lighthouses are favorite subjects for many Bryce artists here, so I decided to make one with a tropical flavor to it. I've learned a lot in the process, mainly that Brycean palm trees are no match for Vue palm trees =). *Sorry, I'm talking specifically about coconut palms. I know Bryce is awesome at other trees even palms but NOT coconuts.* The big palm up close is Xfrog created by an awesome artist named Jan Walter Schliep(www.wallis-eck.de) , the others are Bryce. Tower made in Bryce. Post work in Photoshop. Thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful image and I think you are doing great with your lighthouse. I like the lighting and the blur effect of your scene for movement. I would be interested to know the name of the FONT you used on your framework, unless it is of top secret information. :) Very pretty and I've not seen that font in my searches. Great work! :)

Wow, Alvin, such a steer from what I was expecting :) __ Ok, let's go: beautiful choice of PoV, and top-level postwork (it's hard to not overdo the radial blur, you succeeded greatly). Then, after seeing 1,000s images with lighthouses, one begin to hate them lol, but this is definitely not the case: I love the tropical look you gave to it. Plus, the light comes from the very perfect angle toward us viewers, and the water has the tropical shine the title is hinting. Another pleasure for the eye.

Interesting work, great tropical feel. Well, I have to comment on the palm-tree issue ;o) It may be so that the default Vue trees are easier to use, but the Vue trees are no match for the ones you can build in the Bryce tree lab - incl. palm trees. With Vue you're more or less stuck with the limited number of trees you get with the package or purchase later (or import from, say, Xfrog), where as you have an almost infinite number of tree designs in Bryce. It is quite possible to make very unique and realitic trees, and spare your audience from the "ah, yet another Vue forest" experience. Sorry for this outburst - just think Vue's edge over Bryce as a nature scene builder is a little overdone. I have the Vue demo, not that great at all for my purpose.

Hello! What I like about this picture most is the water. It really looks like rocks and boulders in the water. In my water pics the rocks look like bunches of rogue seaweed. I think the blur effect gives the feel of tropical humid air. Very nice image!

I'm being drawn into the image by the blur, feel the rush of moving foward & for some odd reason the theme song of "Miami Vice" playing in my head LOL! Excellent image! :)

This is a good composition and a very good use of xfrog and bryce. You could probably sell prints of this if you care about that sort of thing. Are these your Xfrog models or Walli's?
