Description
Just a WIP... Slowly the bloated blue-white star rises and casts its light on the clouds of a gasplanet and the birds begin to circle the hydrogenfloaters as they rise into the upper layers of the atmosphere...
Thanks for the low-res birds to Obiwan.

Really well done! And I see you managed to get those clouds in FRONT of the star--something I have alot of trouble pulling off usually. I hope you show us the "final" version. ;)

Putting the clouds in front of the star and planet is pretty easy: Just add a ground layer, give it a cloud-shader and clip it by 3 to 6 degrees. Position the planet in a way, that at least half of the planet is below the cloudlayer and far enough away from the camera so that the fog makes the planet look like a real part of the sky... (Don't think I worked this out... I discovered this effect by chance while doing this picture.

Such an imaginative scene! The floaters are very pretty. I would love to see more of this world!

This is really unusual! I'm with Mike..I have LOTS of trouble with cloud formations going where I want them to. AND... I agree with Petunia..I would like to see more of this world too :)~ Sacred
