Nice Image! How did you model the island?

The island is only a simple Plane with a good subdivision and Nurbs activated. In Layout I make a Displacement with Turbolence Texture, and a greyscale image as Alfa to make Relief and Depressions.

I think it needs more detail yeah , But also maybe a more dramatic angle to show of the whole peice. It's kinda flat like that , maybe bring it closer to the lighthouse and add some tilt to the camera... (how detailed are your models . the boat and the lighthouse , if there quite detailed you could maybe use that to visualy pack the image, then your island and such wouldn't need as muchAlso everything is in focus, maybe use some DoF , and a higher contrast between light and dark in the rocks . But other than that Good work so far =)

Not sure what it is exactly that is wrong. Everything is well modeled and textured well, except I cannot help feeling that the scale is off. Perhaps the waves might be to large and far apart? Maybe the galleon in relation to the lighthouse? Not sure. All the elements are really well done!

i agree with moe, i think the trees and boats need to be smaller maybe 60%. also add some small rocks on the shore and land. add some patchy grass too! looks good though, your on the right track! Pete

This is a beautiful image. But if you're looking for realism I would say that the boats, trees and lighthouse look like scale models set on a beach somewhere, they seem way to small for the size of the waves and the structure of the land. Great modeling on all the individual pieces though, just got to find a way to put them altogether good job.

I want to make a precision, the boats are the galeons present in the Lightwave Object Folder, and I don't know if the dimensions are exact. The Lighthouse is 50 meters, the distance to the camera is 450-500 meters. I put a low polygon human model near the lighthouse, but is not visible.. I think is too distant !!

Very good looking image indeed, I agree with the scale of the models, maybe you should adjust the illumination and water texture so that the galleon shadows cast realistically (look at the first galleon on the left...), furthemore the lighthouse seems a little out of time, I do not believe they had red and white stripped lighthouses during the 17th century ;-)... Otherwise, great potential...

I put the galleons only to have an idea about the scene. I'll create boats a little bit modern. The water have only the bump texture. I'll try to add the Fresnel, and if the result don't change... I'll change the Skytracer setup. Perhaps a little bit luminous!! P.S. Thanks for your help !!!

I like this image a lot. Besides the scale of either the water or the boats problem, I think I would work to get a more interesting lighting - shadows etc. Nice already in any case.
