Render test of lighttracer feature in 3dsMax5. One skylight, 2 bounces, 1600 samples/ray. original size 1600x1200. Rendertime 5:28:36. Dual P3 800MHz, 1 Gb RAM. Some 6 million faces...

Interesting concept, but where are the other 5.5 million faces? i see only about 500k, can I see a wireframe? Good job though, looks alot like a undersampled Brazil image to me! Outstanding render for Max scanline! 2 Thumbs Up!

Yes, you're right that there are faces missing in the pic. The array consists of 35 balls but you can only see 25. The balls are NURBS modelled and converted with MAX bult-in "high" option at render time. And it is a bit undersampled, working on that, and a new version will be up soon....

I know this comment isn't worth anything when it comes to the tech behind the rend or anything... But the ball itself is very cool... looking forward to see what U can do with it!! Wish there were a ranking Cool!! LoL
