Description

Literally ~ after Dali's brilliant "The Meditative Rose" (1958) which inspired in me a sense of distant landscape with hovering flower of unknown but possibly huge dimensions, similar to Magritte's wonderful gravity defying objects...a mere shadow of an offering to two men of gargantuan talent and imagination. Created in Expression 3. :-)>

I like how scrolling down is in essence the fate of the rose... The only thing I'm not really positive about is the rose, it doesn't look as abstracted as the background due to the numerous lines each leaf possesses. Otherwise it's a very serene image. I'll check out the new theme.

It's a Camelia (a different type of Rose)to my eyes and it's my mum's favourite flowers these days (she's got a white one, and she's so proud of it)and it's awesome placed over the landscape. I am in awe of this Cam. So much I would look outside the window to catch the falling petals of it :)

Thanks people...Meli, a camellia, you are right! I knew it wasn't a very realistic rendering of a traditional rose lol I thought at one stage perhaps I was painting a dahlia...Odious thanks for your comments, I am going to try to approach the beautiful realism and technique of your rose soon...I'm honoured that this image is mentioned in the same sentence as yours ~ that image has inspired me too. :-)>
