Description

Creddylad, daughter of the sea god Llyr, is considered to be the goddess of summer flowers. Among the Welsh she is connected with Beltaine and often called the May Queen.

According to myth, there was a famous rivalry of the gods Gwyn and Gwyrthur over her each Samhain and Bealtaine. This is one of the origins of the Holly King and Oak King duel which is commemorated each Yule and Midsummer.

She married the man of her choice against the wishes of her father, and became the inspiration for Cordelia in Shakespeare's King Lear. Hope you like her.

The Cast

I fear I am losing what little is left of my mind, as I cannot recall where I obtained the grass or the lovely Stonehenge model. Creddylad played by Steph, texture by Wyndwalker. Dress by Poser Style; flowers the work of brittmccary. Postwork is mine. Enjoy.

Thanks for all comments, votes, and general support. It is much appreciated. Peace, Morgan

Lovely composition. I'm not quite sure what to think of the fuzziness, but in a way it seems to go with it rather well.

Was it Diane DiPrima or Carolynn Cassady who said "To flatter an artist is to kill him." Perhaps she was just quoting someone on the road.

I love the surface texture Morgan, it makes it look so dreamy. Samhain....I have heard that before and from what I recall it wasnt good, right? The image has definately got something about it and it appeals to me a lot, I think it that kind of "captured look", like the event has been frozen in ice.....nice effect.
