Description

Hey all... This is my first attempt at Bryce. I am demoing it to see if I want to buy it. There are several things I do not like with this image. I was wondering if any of you Bryce people could tell me how you would improve this image? Also, I cant seem to find a way to set a render size. There are like 4 default settigns, but no place I can find where I can pick it. I like to render in 1600X1200, but the best I found was this Photo size. Thanks for looking and for any comments and tips you can leave, --Eryk

Wow, for your first render i must say its very nice. It took me months to achieve what you have in your first try. This is really good.

Very good first image... In regard to the sizing...If you double click on the render button it will bring up a list of default sizes. Also you can untick the 'constrain proportions' button and make the image any size you like. Hope this helps.

Yep, there's a very good first. You could try a little more light on the big rock. --- As for the render size, you can also go to the File->Document Setup menu and choose from there.

Thanks for the help all! I now see how to size this properly..woo hoo! I'm glad you liked my first shot. I hope to have a couple more up (probably using the same scene with different atmospheres and tweaks)

You did a very good solid job for a first one. Just keep playing with Bryce and soon you'll get addicted to it as your works get better. I hope you keep posting more of your work here.

when i first started using bryce, i loved it. then, as i started getting more into the heavier stuff like Vue and terragen and lightwave, i lost my affection for it a bit. but now i recognize it for what it really is. a really good program with extreme potential, if only you take the time to learn how to use it well. your picture, is a lot better than i did on my first go and there's nothing i really have to improve on. with the sizing, some of the people have told you some ways, but there's another. in your file menu, there's a "render to disk" option. when you pick that, you can render as big or small as you want, at whatever resolution you want, regardless of your document size :) so say you had your document at 640480, you could render it at 16001200 or 400*300 with no problems. very handy :)
