Description

... neither smoking my beloved Camels, nor reading my favourite SuperHero comic books! :-) ***___*** Hi everyone! Spring is about to come, outside there are the first timidly warm days waitin', and us Brycers spent our spare time smoking in front of a screen... that's life! :) ***___*** Here's some technical details: I've got a brand new scanner, so I used it to scan the sections of a Camel Pack, then I assembled the pack directly in Bryce. The difficult thing was to wrap the background ones in plastic (my scanner won't help with it!). I used only 1 radial to emulate the light coming in from a window, and rendered it with Premium FX at 64rpp, 100% soft shadows and DOF set at 0.01 (instead of the default 0.10). It took a human 12 hours to render at 1024. Everything is modelled by myself, except for the lighter which is by Apache2k here in the freestuff section. Apart of course the frame&sig, the only postwork is for the smoke. ***___*** That's all. Thanx for stopping by, and as usual feel free to comment and/or criticize. And don't forget to have a wonderful Sunday. ---Stefano---

Hi Stefano! Very realistic Image(s)! I'am smoking also to much! A "human" 12 hours to render?! Its not human..!!! One of my pictures need 7 hours, the others 1-3 hours to render. (with a Pentium 1800) This is long enough. Th.

I am sure I saw a play by Dario Fo called Can't quit, won't quit! of was that something else? Love the sentiment behind the image. Impressed by the work.

Two years and 10 days without a smoke. Miss them still, and not helped AT ALL by the stupendous realism of this image. I can just feel that wonderful catch at the back of my throat with a really deeeeeeeep drag! Oh, well! And that means well done!
