Nice modeling! just one thing, the queens are to be in front of eachothers, and it is 8 squares over the board (you have 7).

Looking good ('cept the 7x8 instead of 8x8 grid) but just one thing, there are no shadows on the board from the pieces. You can tell that there is a light source cause there is a shadow of the board on the table. other than that it looks great!
