Description
Laurel Clark saw miracles in the living creatues on board the Columbia. Of the flowers she said: "There were roses in there and they had been buds and they had opened up to bloom....and it was so, so magical to have roses growning in our laboratory in space. Of a newly hatched silkworm: "It was just starting to puff its wings up so that it would be able to fly....and life continues in lots of places...and life is a magical thing"
In this image Laurel takes stock of "lifes magical things". She cannot know that waiting in the background the angels stand sentry: Angelus...pensive....saddened by what is about to happen...listens for the clarion call from the Master while Angela waits....prepared to wrap her arms about the explorers....and take them home.
