Description


This is a global map of the fictional terraformed "Blue Venus". Upper rim of the map is the north pole, lower rim is the south pole. Texture is created with Vue4. Elevation data is based on data of NASA's observation.

Nice image, nice concept. Still, I might ask [if that blue is really water] on a planet with boiling methane/ammonia as an atmosphere, where is all the water going to come from? [just a detail!! LOL]

[To Kelly]Thank you very much for your comment. Atmosphere of actual Venus is almost composed of carbon dioxide, and water vapor is very rare. If we obscure light from the sun, and cool down this planet, and import large amount of sea water to surface of this planet, we may see real "Blue Venus" some day...

Cool! Not just a blue Mars, but a blue Venus too! It'll probably be many thousands of years (if ever) before Venus gets terraformed.

WOw, fantastic concept. The very thought of terraforming venus is mind numbing. But definately something to think about. I've heard talk of terraforming mars, but never venus. Excellent work.
