Description

::: Part 21 of a series of Warbird Panorama Photos ::: Taken at the Planes of Fame Museum in Chino, California (at the Chino Airport). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --- Be sure to visit the world famous "Planes of Fame Airshow 2003" on May 17th and 18th! --- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aircraft: - A Mitsubishi G4M1 Betty, still in the condition and position as it was found from World War 2. The leaves are fake, but placed in a way to mimic the tropical jungle where it was found. There is no thought of restoring her as she's in too bad of condition. Camera is a digital Toshiba PDRM-5 (2.15 MP). Image was resized from 3209x1185. Please note that there are some mistakes in the stitching due to the fact that the camera's lens is not dead center to the rotation point on the tripod. - Comments/Questions are Welcome -

ivo-k, the plane is a Japanese Betty Bomber. It was to them as the B-17 Flying Fortress was to the US in WW2. Admiral Yamamoto (the famous Japanese Fleet Commander) was killed in a plane like this when it was attacked and shot down by USAAF Lockheed P-38 Lightnings.

Nice arrangement. Nasty little suckers. Had 20MM cannons for defense. I kept getting chewed to pieces playing a WWII flight simulator game against them.
