My first foray into Bryceworld... can't figure out what makes this feel more *cartoony* than realistic. The figures? Sky?? All input appreciated !!

It looks absolutly great, but if you think it looks cartoony, i think it might be the rocks giving you that feeling. But it looks pretty real to me.

yay! More Wolves!!! Very cool!

I think that cartoony feel is coming from the fact that the shadows are all the same color. There is very little difference in the shadows in the forground and the background. Why dont you think about darking the colors in the forground, pushing the feel of the ARIAL PERSPECTIVE.

i think grajman means atmoshpheric perspective. If you go to the Sky Lab on the Atmosphere tab, you'll find it under the Haze settings. If things get more purple or pink or blue or green with distance, you can set these RGB numbers to do just that. i've been experimenting with it, myself, and if used subtly, adds nice depth. Anyhow, i think you've done very well. The vegetation details are good. Try adding a bit of stain and moss texture to the rocks, they look rather too clean. If anyone has a bullfrog model, it would be a nice touch in the foreground. If anyone has a bullfrog model, tell ME, because i want one, too! i love your stuff, regardless. Best wishes, Nan
Wolfgar
I don't find it to have a cartoon feel, and I like it very much, both content and "feel". Amazing for your first attempt with Bryce...will take you just a short time to feel comfortable with it and then look out world =)

Cartoony or not, it looks stunning.

The mountains have this stock look to them. I would do something about that. Also the tail on one of the wolves look a bit strange. I dont know why though. Otherwise it looks great.

Where do you get y'r wonderful wolf textures? I think the tail sticking up like that is unnatural but otherwise: perfect

in the moment before dawn you will have a "cartoon" feel. The atmopheric wash of blue saturated with the wet mist of the night dew lifting back into the suns strong grasp, sedates most perspective. It looks great even to my analitical eye. If your still bothered by it try washing out more of the distant details. However keep them the same color they are because the color red has not introduced itself into the morinig yet. You still have to mood in your picture so I realy dont think its necessary. O and thanks for the astounding insperation to delve into bryce.
