Seems to me it's obvious why the prison was closed, LOL Looks really arty by the way. I like the character, looking very 16th/ 17th century-ish.

To me this is symbolic of female oppression, or even that proverbial glass ceiling that women could never rise above. Beautiful textures, and wonderful colors.

We always tend to search for a way out at "eye-level" which is the obvious level for our thought-patterns and mind games. But often the real way out can be found when we manage to look from outside our habits. The word "habits" has a double sense which, in my native language, Flemish, is very clear. Yet, in English we also have the word "habitation" to indicate an isolated spot from the world, the environment where we live, safely and protected. But sometimes the place we inhabit becomes uninhabitable. Same goes for habits. These too can bacome too small, too restrictive, oppressive, uninhabitable. Then we have to take the risk of leaving them behind, coming out of our shelter, out of the known. Many people prefer not to, and when you once saw/felt the sadness of a cat sitting in front of the window, longing to get out, you also know how humans hide in their energy drained patterns, longing, but not daring to take the step into the open...Build a world where you are happy, not a shelter that should protect you because, in the end, it will suffocate you.

Beautiful. A deeply affecting portrait with a world of its own, and an equally thought-provoking comment from Aeneas, one of the most profound things I've read for quite some time. Excellent.
