Description
This is my first textured piece for an animation I am doing. It is a WIP but I think it is coming along pretty nice. There are some texture errors, but I would appreciate any feedback on things that may be added or changed.

I think the grass needs to be 3d, rather than just textured. . try using the fur plugin for 3dsm

And I'd suggest to use VRayDisplacement for grass. Just add a very small size noise map, and there you go. Try it, many arcitects use it. You can see some nice examples at the VRay forum. And, of course, you can use it to bump up the trees too.

i love the atmosphere of this scene. maybe you should improve the texture mapping... anyway, it's a good work! :-)

I agree, I think it is coming along very well. Its interesting that you have a very playful design to the house but are trying for realistic textures. Maybe for an experiment try for a more painterly look by adding light sources with blues for shadows and orange/yellow highlights. I think the texture on the tree behind the house is excellent but it looks more like a rock texture than a bark texture. Great work so far, good luck with the animation.

Love the whimsical structure. Nice work!

A bit more work on the texturing, but it already looks nice! Lovely atmosphere!

What about some weeds, extra plants, undergrowth, unless of course, the wizard has been mowing or has a gardern? Lovely feel about it. :}

Thanks for the comments on this. It was more of a texturing test. I was rendering it out in gray tones for too long, and wanted some color. I will probably use the Druid grass plugin instead of shag because it seems to give me better results. will be adding longer grass, and plants in the two pots by the doorway. I will also be changing the stones and fixing the mapping within the next couple of months.
