2100 polys arn't very "low-poly". But the model looks good

I appreciate your comments. 740 to 850 poly is old school. Todays game standards with all the new technologies can easily surpass 2100 polys. Look at some xbox games, 2100 polys is technically light in comparison to some characters that are 4000 poly in todays games. I know these facts because I know many people that work within the field and they gave me a 2500 poly limit for this model. If you have any questions I will answer them if you like.

Yeah 2000 poly's is standard for a character these days.

Well that might be true in console gaming but less is best when you try to accommodate for pc gamers, making a play able game for wide range of low end and high end computers..
xombi
That is correct freeze. This is based on a console system.

first of all when you construct a low poly character you have to be sure of the joints where the model will bend.. like for example the feet of this model is not properly meshed.. when the feel bends you will get a bad crease. second of all .. the poly count is dependent on what type of game its gonna be. if its a fighting game,, this model would be to low in poly count. if its a "counter strike" sort of game, this model would be perfect. and if its a sims type of game. this model would be to high. :) and you still have to think of edge turning and tristriping . thats what i think anyway. :)

Well, PC games are also getting there. In Freedom Force, for example, 2,000 poly characters are relatively common, and some fan-made meshes that work wonderfully are over 4,000 polys.
