Description
I live near a forest preserve (yeah, we have those all over the Chicago area), that has a herd of Elk. In the evening they come out of the forest and gather in an open meadow near the road. Children gaze in awe and feed them all kinds of goodies they probably shouldn't have. Cars zip by since this is a major intersection, but the passerbys rarely notice this daily occurence.

I like the play of golden sunset light and shadow on the critters - very appropriate for the time of day that they come out.
