Description
Countess Elizabeth Bathory, who tortured and killed 612 young women, became known as Hungary's national monster. She believed that she could attain eternal youth and beauty if she bathed in the blood of virgins. Her crimes were documented in some detail in her diary, and the horror of what she did is believed to have been one of Bram Stoker's inspirations to write the novel 'Dracula.'

Very impressive! I really like the cold, haughty expression in face and eyes. You made her imposing without crossing the line to make her menacing (and thanks for avoiding the cliche of low-lighting her to cast shadows upwards). And the background is interesting -- the cracks take it out of the realm of the classic portrait, but thy add some interest and mystery. Also, love your deft touch with the fur coat. I'm a bit torn about the swath of red on the front of her coat. It fits the story, but seems a little out of place. On the other hand, keeping us off balance is a good thing, considering the subject. GREAT job.
