Description

This is the same image as under Dragon Cave Original, but now with some postwork done in Photoshop. Let me know wich one you like better. It is experimental work with some new tried out options in WB, so not all is yet looking as i would like it to look, but with no experiments no new posibillities. Comments are welcome.

Great image... the fire looks pretty good too, but the flames that are closest perhaps need som more detail, try spatter or some other filter that adds noise. the small rocks that are lying around and casting shadows really are a great touch that adds detail to the whole image |:)

The image looks great, quite convincing! Could be an opening screen to something like Heroes of Might and Magic! I would try to put a point light source (or few of them) to make some extra lighting effect from the fire.

Thanks for the input! It is something i am still experimenting with and will get improvements. I will try the advises made and see what it does to the image. Igor, how about some Fantasy Plants, for some more Fantasy theme posts for WB?

Great experiment Dimitri, i think the flames are better in this one. Great work on the cave too, did you use 2 landscapes on top of each other? Smaug is really angy :))

Hi Alfons, It is indeed 2 landscapes on top of each other with intersecting skeleton lines inbetween them and with influence on landscape switched on, this way it will influence both landscapes at the same time and create positive and negative shapes and glue them together. The procedure can produce artifacts and i am looking into refining the whole thing. I will post more with similar technique later on

Nice Job, Dimitri! I like the feeling of depth in the image with the small boulders in the foreground and the distant sky. I like the flames in this one, but for some reason it seems slightly blurred, whereas the other one seems sharper. To get back to the sense of depth: I think this is such a good effect, that you could have exaggerated it even more, perhaps by adding some humanoid figures in the foreground that are totally dwarfed by the dragon! Great Job! - Chas

Hi Chas, Have a close look in the foreground and you will see a small skeleton laying on the ground, buried in the dirt a bit and it is dwarfed by the Dragon I will do a crisper one of this version later on, i will take Igor's comments on the light to heart at this new version as well. well done. The shape of your landscape is great! That dragon pose and the fire is very fierce!!! (In a good way). Looks like something from a role-play magazine. Really good work.
