Description

Since war seems almost immanent, I decided to remind everyone that "allied" bombs tend to hit civillian targets and kill civillians, however "smart" they may be. Why in the mixed medium gallery? Because it wouldn't be appreciated in the lightwave gallery (renderd in lightwave), it was 'realised' in Corel Draw 11, and I coudln't put it in the 2d gallery as it is 3d. NO WAR. STOP THE HYPOCRISY, START THE DEMOCRACY!

Well, as the only one to comment, I must say that the most ironic thing I see about this immenent "war" - I believe they are calling it "Operation Libery Shield" or someother ridiculous rubish - is that the country (America) that wishes to pose democracy on Iraq (which certainly is not ready for an immediate transition for despotism to democracy) is a far cry from democracy itself. I am so sorry to inform those who think that because they can vote they live in a democracy. Don't forget, those folks living under Saddam get to vote as well. They just have one less candidate to chose from than we Americans do. Brilliant art, btw.

The execution of the compostion is very good, the message however is a matter of opinion. Do you really believe the US and UK are going to bomb the hospitals? What's next the raping of women and children? Oh wait, Saddam is already doing that.

On a technical level, this image is well done and does get the point across. As a moderator, I need to ask that people keep their comments on the image helpful and respectful, no matter your personal feelings on the message. You can agree, disagree, or have mixed emotions, but please keep all comments civil. Thanks!

I want to apologise, sometimes I get a bit too carried away with irony. Thanks for all your positive comments, and I will try to keep my art more civil.

I don't really think it's most important what your personal opinion is or if the USA is going to bomb hospitals or not. I think the most impotant thing of this image is actually that it makes people think. And that makes it art. Wich is more important than the composition or technique (wich are also great in this image). Exellent image

Beautiful picture and I completely agree with your message, irony or not. "Smart bombs" is an oxymoron.

...As opposed to how the Americans who are so anti-Europe right now should give up their language, education, and culture? At any rate, the second target HAS, evidently, been a hospital. A Republican Guard hospital, in all fairness, but still not a prime target, nyet? Anyway, blah. If you wanted to celshade, it would have been best to cel the wall paintings, too.

They are, but being just a simple plane, and in black and white, you don't really notice it.

I wonder how long it takes for Prophesy to start tearing down the Statue of Liberty for being French... lol. Nice render, yes these things do happen and they will continue to... people have to face up to the fact that war, even if necessary, always causes people to die, and sometimes even good people die. And good people already have died, on both sides.

Great idea punmaster. I love the way you made this look like a political cartoon in the newspaper.

There is no denying the importance of art such as this. History must remember the REALITY of this invasion...sorry, war I mean. Brilliant work. I love prophesy's comment, for it just shows the futility of the counter argument!

I can't help it if I think this image sucks! You checked the box that allows comments to be posted so here it is. Some good some not. Get over it. If you don't want comments, you should not have checked it. I never said I was anti-Europe... I just didn't like this image and it's message. That's my opinion and nobody's gonna change that. I'm not giving up culture because culture belongs to all humans, it's not a European invention, so is language. Education? Egypt and China had education long before Socrates was born. Besides I'm not an American citizen, just an American supporter. Sorry to disappoint you. Goodbye!

Humpty Dumpty jumped off the wall and landed on the left. Henceforth cracking his head to be open-minded until his brain fell out.
