Description

Well, I finally decided to get serious about learning how to do clothing. I tried to use transmaps on things to get the look I wanted, but sometimes they just don't work. Here's a shirt I'm working on for Mike. It still needs some work, but I'm making progress. I used Amapi 4.5 (free!) to do the modeling on Thip's royalty free bodysuit for Mike. I cut out everything I didn't want, then added the chest straps and manipulated the verticies to get the fit right. Then I used UVMapper (free version) to map the groups. Finally I boned it in the P5 setup room. I've got a couple of gaps to fix, but it's conforming really well. Look it over and make any suggestions as to style (or anything else for that matter). Thanks! Jim

You're doing a fantastic job...looks like a perfect fit. I can't think of any stylistic suggestions, but it would be interesting to see what could be done with texture/bump. If you can do it, morphs for Mike's basic "muscular" settings would be cool. Impressive work!

Nice work, Jim. I really like the "velvet" texture/feel on the shirt!

Jim, thanks for providing so much info on technique and tools. This looks good. One suggestion might be to make the cross-bars less rigid--real fabric would droop a bit.

Not too keen on the style, but otherwise looks great! Now htat I am learning it, I still prefer post-render clothing, but for those who like to pose the cloths, I think your work would make a great addition to people's Poser libraries!! Keep it up, and Cheers!
