Description

This ship is based on a Hatchet Fish I saw at the local Aquarium. I have made several others based on Sharks , Squid , Jelly Fish and misc Crustaceans. I am currently working on a series of small interlocking animations using Bryce and 3D Studio Max. I just to see what people think of this design. Someone said it looks like a ship from the game Homeworld but I've never played it so I dunno. Modelled in Rhino , textured/rendered in Bryce and maps are Marlin Studios and Bryce's DTE.

I must add that the lighting and angle don't really show off the bumpmap or ship lights but they do look good.

I like it too, its a bit Babylonian in its 'vertical arrogance'!! - nice detail, but must agree with Curio, maybe something happening on the horizontal plane would make it a bit more balanced?

Nice ship and textures, do you still need that help ?(looks like your doing quite well on your own)I have tried sending that tutorial and sending some textures also, but keep getting some sort of failure message each time, a couple of days later... I dont know what the deal is. Keep it up, cant wait to see the final image.

Personally, I like the aggressive vertical component; sometimes,IMO things don't have to be balanced. I'd like to see a space background, maybe portholes with lights, etc. I'd also love to borrow the mesh and play with it! :-)

Nah it doesn't need anything horizontally. The Hatchet fish had fins but they were against the body making it completely vertical.

I personally love it and I'm waiting patiently for the Rhino greeble tut (unles you use the MAX plug-in). The horizontal thing would only be needed, I think, if it were to have been MAN made...as we tend to stick to certain formulas. However, Aliens or foward thinkers wouldn't feel the need for more than what you've given. Just look at the Mellenium Falcon!

Teyon this is true as the Millenium Falcon was all horizontal and no vertical! , with the exception of the lydar dish.
