Oh! So beautiful! Unusually bright for a cathedral, but all the details are visible. I love the organ.

Another great render from you! The shadows from your sun are too crisp. Even on a really clear day they would be more blurry than you have them. It is especially noticable in the shadows from the circular rose window. Still a fantastic image. Nice work!

Thanks for the comments! This is based very loosely on a cathedral in Budapest, actually just a small portion of it. Let's put it this way: it doesn't exist anywhere the way you see it, but on my hard drive only :-) One directional light was used and skydome (filtering thru background and window) Shadows can be quite sharp, even on a less clear day too, see my photo here, taken late afternoon. http://www.pbase.com/image/3310332 The shadows might not be perfect in my image(Max), but it's not very far from reality at all. The blur/softness of the shadow depends on many things, but in case of solid objects mostly it's the distance between the casting object and the surface that shadow falls on, and on the type of light. Of course, it's not quite that simple, but it's a good point to start with.

A nice peaceful scene is exactly what we need right now. I love the candles especially--they have an extra glow to them that adds a little magic to the serene setting.

It really turned out very good...in fact I know this Cathedral and recognize that corner. The organ is a wonderful add to it. All very realistic. Karin :-)

Very nice. Have only one remark, really.. Something that most people do wrong is candle-light. If you look at a candle youll notice that the light has a clear white light with a bit of yellow in it.. The flames are NEVER pointy.. Otherwise.. SUPERB!

Looks great !!! Superb... I would add some dirt to the walls and objects to break tiling and make it more real... unless you wanted to illustrate a superclean cathedral... Good work...
