Description
This piece was inspired by REDFERN'S comment on my LOST WORLD pic looking like a King Kong pre-production painting, thanks REDFERN! I dedicate this to you and a special night in 1992 when I sat in a theatre in Omaha, 3 rows in front of my favorite artist, RAY HARRYHAUSEN, and watched that same movie on a wide screen. I can see why that film changed his life. I later got his autograph. What an experience! What a memory! what a film! and what a film-maker!

Wow! I'm flattered! I never considered myself to serve as someone's Muse. This one captures even more of that flavor. The greyscale with the textured surface gives the illusion of a soft graphite pencil drawing, just like the pre-production illustrations I saw for "King Kong" (well, prints within a magazine). And the beastie, well, I think Harryhausen would be proud of the essence you captured. A fantastic homage to early film design! If I wore a hat, I'd tip it! Sincerely, Bill

As an owner of the old Goldner and Turner King Kong book from 1976, I looked at this and wondered why I was seeing The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms drawn in the style of Byron Crabbe and Mario Larinaga. For a moment, I thought wow! Daz 3D now has a Rhedosaurus for sale?? Cool.
