BIO
I am a 33 year old college student at the University of Arizona. I have a A.A.S. in Computer Science with over 100 credits towards my BS that should be finishing by may 2004. I love to create things out of my imagination and put it out to others for all to see. The programs that I use to produce my work are numerous, but here are a few to give example:
BYRCE5, Poser4&5, Photoshop7, Terragen, Lightwave, WTStudio (beta), Paint shop pro and Corel Draw 10
I also own and operate
GJPIIIDesigns.com (currently under a re-build). I also enjoy doing web designs which I primarily use macromedia products for. There are many great artist to view here and here are some of my favs: Flak, Calum5, RaysOlight, alvinylaya, miyu, Mel3d and of course Rochr.
*Special note*There are only 3 things in life that I am positive of, and they are this...
(1) We all will pay taxes..
(2) We all shall die someday..
(3) Heavy Metal is the closest thing to classical Mozart in todays modern fast-food, in your face society.

there's 2 things i love about this pic, and 1 thing i admire. i love the reflective surface in the centre of the oracle, the texture of the columnts etc, and i truly admire the patience it took to make those columns out of booleans in bryce heheh. i tried it once in lightwave which has even more precision and never again heheh. the improvement from one picture to the next is amazing
alvinylaya
Great modelling. I look forward to the completed piece. My Compliments.

Remember, the Greeks created their columns with a slight distortion. They were not totally straight up and down. The lower part of the column was slightly wider around than toward the top. This was to correct a visual distortion they perceived when standing at the base and looking up to the capital of the column. When a straight column is viewed from below at the base, it has a tendency to flair out at the top. When corrected, with the base of the column slightly wider, the top seems to look visually correct. Even today, we build our buildings with the Greek columns, with the slight flair of the lower half of the shaft. Look at the ruins of old structures and our government buildings, they all have this corrected visual architectural element....

Yes- thank you FitartistSF. I am aware of that - I built this image with about 4 good photos on the original site. I am currently busy on other projects- but I will however come back to this image. And thanks for your input with a Kudos snap for your knowledge on Greek Architecture.
