It is estimated that during the "Cold War" about 20 million (soldiers and civilians) people died world wide as pawns in proxy wars spurred on by either the U.S. or the Soviets. Hundreds continually die today, just from the landmines left over from those wars. Its also worth noting that the U.S. refused to sign the 1997 international landmine treaty that bans such weapons. Just remember that American soldiers aren't the only ones who've died (and continue to die) for the freedom of americans. Many a thrid-world child has had their leg blown off for your freedom, and I don't think they signed up for it either. Good render though, and nice poem :)

Nice render, but why should my only son die so your pres. can play with his toy soldiers? No thanks, that's not my idea of freedom! Too bad -you- don't get that!

My dad served in the Air Force, one of my brothers also served in the Air Force. 4 of my brothers served in the Army, and one of my brothers and myself serve in the Navy. All of my brothers have, and are serving this country. That's my dad, and his six sons served, and are serving this country. Did my grandfather sacrifice any less while my dad served in Korea? While my 4 uncles served and died in Nam? I think not. I joined the service to keep America free. If I should fall during the process, I hope that my memory is not lost and America remains free. I do not think that any father or mother who's son(s) or daughter(s) served has sacrificed any less than any other. While my children are not old enough to serve, I have five daughters of my own. They are my reason for keeping America free. I want them to enjoy that same freedom I have enjoyed. I know what I sacrifice, and I do it for you, and all Americans so they too may enjoy those freedoms that I do. God Bless You, and God Bless This Republic!
