Description
Hey,
I'm developing some Bryce material products, this is a mat for "Volume One - Desert Sands and Dirt." This particular single mat on the terrain is my first mat to reach pre-beta in my mind. What I'm really looking for here is for comments on the mat, what may look wrong, is it any good, what improvements could you see and such, one of the things I'm really looking for in this one is whether or not the sand looks like it's sitting on the rock right, whether the slope blending is realistic. Thanks in advance for all crits, please don't go easy because I want these to be the best they can be.
My plan for the volumes is to put 10 mats in each volume and sell them for about $10. But I've got a surprise for the awesome Bryce community with this volume, I think you'll like it.

This is a fantastic image, the slopes do fade quite nicely. Everything you ask about in my opinion is a perfect success. I am however wondering, is this two mounds in the middle of the desert or the desert ending into the mountains. The far background suggest that these are two mounds alone in the desert. Excellent job. =)

Thanks flyhippie, these are indeed two mounds alone in the desert, I was going kind of for a Shiprock (AZ) look. I have had two people mention elsewhere that the sand isn't fine enough, but that's easy to adjust.

Very impressive. Best sand I've seen for Bryce ever I think.

Hi... Even though I am a beginner I think I'd like to input here. The strata lines are real good, but where they touch the sand I think they should have faded out more as not to be seen in the sand itself. That is what the erosion is about.I mean these are real good mats.Maybe you could make a finer grain sand and try it in here also.$10 huh? will that be US or Can.LOL...I'd buy. Keep it up I rely on this until I can make things myself.(if and when)

Attention K-Mart shoppers..errr I mean Renderosity shoppers, we have a very talented artist with some great new mats on the way. This mat is terrific! Can't wait to see the rest. Please put me on your IM list as I will be your first customer :)

Thanks everyone! Amethyss, that will be $10 US. garyandcatherine, I'll let you know when it gets out. It may be a little while, as I still have to finish the other mats and then I need to learn how all the merchant stuff works. I'll be a fast as possible though ;-)

This is a very good looking sand. Dunno about others, but I use often the "no AA" options on materials. I wonder how this will look like. It's spot-on like this... specially the interaction with the jutting rocks. Thumbs up!!! [and, by the way, thanx for the Bush Recipes... I forgot where I got them, now I know.]

Looks awesome! Fabulous terrain work and superb mats!

Thanks guys. Doublecrash, I'm probably going to include a user guide that I'm thinking about having a how to get better sand renders section and the no AA can be a big part of that.
