That's on a tree?? Looks like barnicles on something in the ocean. BTW, I like the lighting. You chose a good time of day to take the picture.

You have an excellent eye for detail, Jason. I don't know for sure, but I've always thought it's some kind of fungi/mushroom on the bark... Great shot, anyway :)
