Description

Found a tire tutorial on the net (the one on the right) and decided to try another one from scratch (the left) Not, much of a vehicle person, but I liked the way the tutorial and mine came out. 3 lights, Low Enchance AA, render time 44.2 secs.. Any ideas on how to get that chrome to REALLY shine?

Very nicely done! Have you tried the "chrome" in the surface editor presets yet? That's always a good place to start.

I use a reflection gradiant set on the angle setting and it starts at 50% and ends at 70% and difuse and reflection should add up to 100%

Yep, I like to use the preset chrome as a starting point, then open the surface editor, under the "Enviroment" tab, click on "Ray Tracing + Sepherical" and then down load an image like a sky with clouds, or some kind of out door scene. It'll bring your chrome to life! Don't forget to valve stems for the air, small details like that can add a lot towards realism.
