The curb provides an interesting line, but I dont care for the road too much. The serenity of the scene is robbed by the thought of passing cars. loud engines, and blaring music. The warmth of the sun on the trees is inviting, but I cant escape the cold asphalt.

I agree with Reflection. When framing or cropping a shot, ask what's important and interesting, and what's not; what's ordinary and what's unusual and/or appealing. In my opinion, the large amount of space devoted to asphalt diverts attention from the very real beauty of the lake and trees. A photography instructor of mine once said "fill the frame with the subject." Simple, but very powerful advice.

sorry about the pic was in a rush and i forgot to crop it, it also was the wrong shot that i uploaded but thanks 4 the advice. comments r alway's welcome. i only started taking up photography about 3 weeks ago.
