Well, everybodys done one chessboard in their lives..here's mine. In Rhino and some PS7.

Globator
Well, This is a pretty awesome chess board. You did a great job on the modeling and it turned out to be a very elaborate work. Sadly, it lacks in two departments. First, your render engine is less than desirable. I think you rendered in Rhino 3d and that may be what's giving it the less than sweet crispness of a real 3d program. What's really throwing my eye off is that I think you put the light source right smack dab into the middle of the shot, so shadows are being thrown off in opposite directions. Second, your POV is kind of generic. If you had chosen a camera angle more downward and into the action per se it may have had a more astounding effect on the piece. But hey! You did catagorize this into modeling so I won't launch into a gigantic tangent about that. Again, great job modeling, I'll keep an eye out for a repost if you decide to do one. Keep up the good work.

Really like the design of the board, and the pieces look very playable - and seem modeled more organic then just using a one rail extrude, or similar [:}] method.... and interesting knights. I like it.

Very good go along with Globator and the board looks a bit bent I have Rhino this super image as a Chess player has reawakened my interest in it!!
