Description

This is a character I was working on for a planned series illustrating Tolkien's Tale of Luthien & Beren - but I haven't had time to do that yet, so in the meantime, Lutien will play the part of anonymous elf maiden in the arms of a helpful Ent.. :)

Here's some comments from a purist - Tolkien writes about Luthien "in her face was a shining light". I'd suggest depicting this and then creating a glow on the face of the ent too. Her face looks a bit mischievous, I think it would be better as if "enchanting". She was described as "a star upon a hill". I also think that the ears are a bit overdone, it makes her look awkward or too faerie IMO. Subtlety is key with elven beauty IMO. But - I realize this is an "anonymous elf maiden", so perhaps you could just take these things into consideration for the actual Luthien?
