Description

Hi folks This is my (maybe too sarcastic) way, to handle the happenings of the present. This one is for the soldiers and the reporters, which lost their lifes for...?! Think about it by yourself! Hope, you aren't too offended!

Not offended at all. Everyone has their opinion, and everyone should have a right to voice it. By the way, nice piece. :)

You would need a rather large shelf to fit all the victims of 100,000 gased people in the iran war, the 5,000 gased kurdish villagers and the twin tower victims. Neat render.

You are right! Maybe it's the right time to buy some shares of urn-manufacturers! ;-)

Plus the 1,500,000 deaths due to the blockade, and the thousands of civilians died in this last one, and the million or so of Hiroshima/Nagasaki, the Vietnam countrymen and villagers, and so on, and on, and on, and on...

The image is very well done, gsb, as usual. Excellent all the way. I like the way you raise thoughts and express yours without being blatant. A really good work.

I think the image is well done, but the text on the label makes the statement too blatent... It destroys the subtle aspect of the rest of the piece. May I suggest either changing the text to "Back from Baghdad" or perhaps a shipping label laid along side the rest of the materials. Another alternative would be a slip of paper "The Department of Defense regrets to inform you..."

Having read a lot of history regarding war in general, I can only come to one conclusion wether the reasons are right or wrong the waste of one human life let alone millions is tragic. These people who rule us, should be the ones to sort it out face to face in a locked room instead of sending people to there deaths. This will never happen, but as I said to Stefano earlier maybe we as a race are not that intelligent afterall. Excellent image, stark and very true.

It's spelled "Baghdad". And ask the Iraqis today if they think we did the wrong thing. They are cheering and celebrating their freedom in the streets now that we control most of the city. Regretablly people die in war and if there was another option I'm sure we would have used it. Saddam left no other option.

Sorry, my fault, because here in Germany it's written "Bagdad". And it's to late to talk about other options. ;-)

Death is always the saddest human experience. The spelling doesn't matter because it's just an approximate translation from arabic writing. Anyway, the message is stunning and with an image as awesome and realistic as this, it really makes one stop and think. Although I'm not too politically oriented this image is definitely one of my favorites in your gallery. Excellent work.
