Description

A friend of mine has seen some of the portraits I've done of people and has finally convinced me to put some of them up here. I think this one is the best of the ones I've done so far, but hopefully not the last. At the time of drawing this, my nana was very ill with bowel cancer and my mother was driving eight hours each weekend to be with her. She had an operation that helped for a short interim, but it came back a month later and unfortunately she died on October 5th, 2002. It seems fitting that my first contribution to this gallery be of her, as I still miss her heaps. Feel free to share your comments.

This is lovely work; it doesn't just show a face, but the essence of a wonderful person. Thank you for sharing it, and I hope to see more!:D
