looks great! I was wondering where the beard came from? Gotta try that photo mapping one of these days. Great job.
faveral
Thanks ! I hand-painted the beard for this one.

Very nice job, he looks just like him. Excellent texturing :)

I was wondering who he reminded me of in the thumbnail and then I read your description. Then it clicked. Great job =)

Wow! My husband's in the background doing Connery-Bond impersonations 'cause I showed him this pic. So I'd say yes, it does look just like him. :)

The texture makes him indeed a look-a-like. Try to render without that hat. I think he will even come closer

This is a marvelous portrait, I like a lot and it resembles really to Connery, you have a great talent. G.

Nice work. Interesting character. Well done

First of all, thank you all for your nice comments. One thing I wanted to clarify though, it wasn't my intention to make this character ressemble Sean Connery, I just used a picture of him to make the skin texture.

Excellent work!!

Nearly-perfect work on skin and beard. However the rest of the pic denotes the very deceiving state-of-art of the all-made 3D props up to this date. The eyes, though having an excellent shining, lack shadow in their upper part (easy to correct within Photoshop), the cap shows some angular unpleasant effects, and the wool sweat would prefereably be replaced: try to photograph YOURSELF with the same angle as your nice character, and a real wool such as this one, then assemble it with the portrait into Photoshop and see how much better it is!
