I believe you named the big image and the thumbnail the same thing. When you do this, Renderosity uses the thumbnail for the large pic! That must be the reason. Or is the skyphoto just VERY low-res?

Thanks for your comments..I think the image itself was low res..too much compression..this sometimes happens to me in my excitement to post. I tend to over compress.

Paint Shop Pro has a compression wizard. It will tell the file size along with compression amount before you save the picture. The colors are spot on.

I took the advice given and recompressed the image using the wizard in PSP. Thanks a lot for the positive feed back.

Glorious synset colours Joe, but if this is the re-compressed version, I think it still lacks sharpness. Odd though - it doesn't really look like typical overcompression to me. More like it's been deliberately blurred in a 2D app or perhaps blown up from a smaller image.
