I took this photo last Saturday (April 5), where I live north of Silicon Valley. It's not as good as most of the others here, but I figured I ought to post at least one image after all the time I've spent at Renderosity, to avoid looking like a complete troll ;-)

These flowers have been here since we built the house. They grow wild in the Coastal Live Oak woodland habitat, under the trees. The deer don't like to eat them, which is good, because they're the only big showy wildflower in this habitat. They spread both by runners and by seeds, and they bloom from March to May.
