Description
Only my third drawing in 12 years, and am having to relearn. I posted it to rhino and not 2d because i feel in any kind of 3d work the conceptual sketch can be as important as the model, and a few people said they would like to see a bit of my 2d type. Done in biro on paper and then added a bit in photoshop. I wanted him to be a type of universal soldier after an old Donovan song, yet have a fantasy feel.
Hope one day i can model things like this.
Forgot to say th figure came from a shadow on the wall so i also call it THE SHADOW KNOWS.

Umbrella for the red rain that comes from the dark times perhaps... as in an axe. Like the 'distant' pensive & contemplative look to the face. Hell of a challenge for nurbs - but the helmet and "umbrella" would be interesting to do as a warmup to tackling that bearded face & the clothing. And me thinks the hard part to any project is just the visualtion, the rest is just technique.

Cool denno! I wish I was better at drawing and agree with hewsan as sometimes it's hard to model without a good reference to work from.

Cheers Tugmaster I have just been saying to Hewsan i wish say, he could make the axe and helmet, someone like Teyon could make the face and arms, someone like Spike or syn make the clothing and the texturing, and then with a bit of erics magic, and yours, and juan carlos and jgeorge, working on it as well. We can only dream, if only i had the finances.....

If this is only your third drawing in three years then you have a very intuitive gift. Nice weight to the lines and emphasis applied when needed. Some of the perspective on the far side of the face looks to be off but I like the style in your effort. Keep this up, you should share the image with the others in the 2-D gallery.

He has a slightly baleful look ( like the ceremonial is not his thing? ) but the urgency of the drawing reveals the underlying vigour of his spirit.
