Description

Given the two Ghost in the Shell inspired pictures in my gallery, I today decided to model a Tachikoma. This is what I got after 2 hours and I

Thanks, but the back section isnt mandatory. Thats the passenger compartment and the battery storage. Most of the sonic sensors (not modeled yet) are in there, too.

Sieht beinahe aus wie Mr. Dusty. Oder so wie ich mir das Teil vorstelle.

I'm not shure what the original are alike. The model is quite convincing and if you try to make it better, you should look if the style is more mechanical or more designerlike. Mechanical robots are always useful, designerlike ones are more for th e catwalk. Both are stylish. I cant really help for the second approach, but for the first -the mechanical- you could work on the legs by thinking what makes them work. If there are any problems with "earlyer" models of th e robot and the like. This might be covered by panels and streamlined by design. Then there might be a "stealthy" approach too, to reduce radar signature. The always round design is noadays replaced by clear plating. Lines always do good work on a design. Hope some of the ideas can help you. Nice work as it is! - Oh. I just found the "original".. Yeah. And I see the difference of the leg. You should construct the legs more like a human leg and abstract it to be mechanical. The "original" robot has a thickend knee, for example and the "foot hinge" is much smaller, more like the one of a young girl. Those details make the robots so cute. They really are drawed in mechanical proportions of young girls.

Thanks for your comment. The legs are really complicated on these things. I gotta invest a lot of pre-work thinking because of the wheel mechanism. They can retract the the wheels to walk on the decelleration pads. You might be right about the young girl leg thing. Ill take a girls leg as a reference and will see if it works. Thanks again!

Very nice. You are right about the legs though. They are abit chunky, try streaming the thickness down abit and esentially the wheels have fingers attached to the outer guards that will function as hands once the wheels are retracted.
