i touch my head
it feels wet and warm
i draw my hand back and it's covered in red
"i'm bleeding", i think to myself
it's coming out pretty fast at this point
the blood is everywhere
but i didn't care at this point
i had just gotten up from bed
where my white bed had once again been soaked dark red
i walk out of my bedroom and through my house
i left a trail as i walked
by this time my floor had already been tarnished red
i make my way into the kitchen still leaving the blood path i walk everyday
i decide to have cereal today as i did the day before
i take a bite of my flaky copper tasting oats
today is a good day
i think i can see more than blood today
i see a new beginning
i think i saw yellow or maybe orange today
today is a good day
and i wait till tomorrow
i wait for a better future
