Nice modeling. Needs some texture work though. Great!

Great model here. Like Dan said, needs texture work. Dirty it up. Make it look like this ship has been around for a long time and has surveyed hundreds of worlds.

Why does everyone think that spacecraft needs to be dirty? The only time a craft needs dirt and decay is if it sustains atmospheric flight. There is no Friction in space to weathers the paint. As for leaking fluids and stains on the hull, well this means you have a hull breach and you will soon be dead. Just add your decals and I think you will have a winner.

The last couple of comments are all valid. However, dirtying up may not necessarily mean leaks, stains and weathered paint. Try some small dents on edges. Since this is Cinema, try Filleting all your sharp edges. One of the big reasons that objects, though modelled very well in 3D, still look fake is the too sharp look of all edges. Remember, even a sharp 90 degree edge is neither sharp or 90 degrees. Soften all your edges just a small amount. If a spacecraft, like this one portrayed this close to the surface, flies through atmosphere, the paint would meet resistance, might even chip a little before repainting and oxidize some, discoloring in areas meeting the atmosphere head on. Try a little of these FX and it would look a little more realistic...

Surface detail can add a lot to a model, apart from the added sense of realism it helps give a visual clue as to the angle and shape of the surfaces, besides who says a texture map has to be loaded into the colour channel, some of the best effects come from using the luminance, specular and bump channels, so quite crabbing about how come it dont look fine just the way it is an do the right thing............who knows , you might just surprise yourself !! ;-)

Looks great. nice model. as for space ships not geting dirty there is no way to go threw space and not hit fragments of rock and ice that are out there. they shater and make large spots on any kind of hull. space is not empty.
