Description
A short while ago I decided to refinish my guitar because, aside from being a cheap Ibanez, it is also an embarrassing shade of white, fit only for Elvis impersonators and easy listening music. In order to pre-visualize finishing options I'm building this one digitally.
Right now the body is mostly done, and in the near future I'll be building the neck and hardware, and then I will try out a variety of finishes before I do the "real" thing.

great model, I dont know how much you will be able to carry over from digital to real life but gl

Hope your real life model will be has good. Quite a bizarre approach to things but it's a job well done for sure.

Try a light walnut stain, followed by Varithane,.....about 200 coats, and of course you have to hand sand after every coat. I refinished a Mexican-made Fender Strat once, I used light walnut with just a touch of raw sienna added for a slight reddish undertone. Then I replaced the pickups with Seymour Duncan Mini-buckers(Jeff Beck humbucker at the bridge and 2 '59 models at the neck and middle, added mini-toggles for in/out of phase and coil split)put it all on a black pearl pickguard. Oh,...it was a thing of beauty. Anyhow,...nice render and modeling.

Thanks for the comments! Sackrat, that sounds like a beautiful finish job. Mine will most likely be more humble, but I will certainly try to do the instrument proud.
