Description

A slightly updated sketch of trench warfare during WW1. Tried to give it that 'archived footage' look.

maybe a sepia finish would add to the aged look, but this is an awesome image anyway

if you want it to look aged, make it decayed. Archived footage from the WW1 era is rarely as 'in tact' as this is... just speaking about your comment only so far is all.. The sketfch itself is very slick. Reminds me of old school propoganda cartoon style drawings that I can't really remember all too well...

I disagree with such harsh rankings. On a picture like this it's inappropriate to make it look like it's from the era. I think it's just awesome! A very well done to you and I look forward to more of your posts

The mood is really great! I like this work! To enhance the photo look, add more yellow! Old B/W pictures usually become slightly yellow. Also add some noise and reduce sharpness! I partly agree with judderman here. Your work is very good! Just the aging needs work if you want to achieve it. If YOU dont want it to look aged, its absolutely perfect!!!

Well, I didnt want it to look exactly like a worn photograph, due to my style not being totally photo-realistic. I wanted it to still have that 'illustrative' look with a touch of influence from old photographs. When you get a chance, take a look at some of the old war photos. They were taken with large format cameras, so the detail is quite striking in their clarity sometimes.
