Description

Modeled and rendered in LightWave 3D. Textures are a combination of procedurals and some base images created in Photoshop. This is the final version of the Hasp 220 (couldn't decide whether to call it a hornet or a wasp). Although it might be a bad acronym for Hand Artillery Self Portable. Inspired by Deckard's weapon from "Blade Runner" with a slight anime influence, this hand cannon was deliberately designed to be very ungainly and front heavy. This near-tech sci-fi weapon features target recognition projectiles, where each slug can be configured to recognize a specific target (or types of targets). Accidental discharge of this weapon on an unintended target, will produce painful, but non-lethal results. Magazine holds 12 rounds, with an additional 3 rounds in a pre-chamber compartment and one round primed in the breach, for a total of 16. In addition to a thumblatch safety, a pressure safety bar is also present at the grip. Once the weapon is enabled, it is cocked at the foregrip which then loads a round into the firing chamber. If one is already present, this activates target coding for that specific round. Upon discharge of the weapon, the bulk of the shell casing is consumed with only the butt end ejected from a drop port located in front of the magazine. Coding overrides for each round can be accessed at the sides of the weapon allowing for flexibility of use. This includes a complete "blank out" override, which renders the rounds non-specific. Magazine release is by a set of buttons located on each side of the magazine, which not only releases the magazine but also disables the weapon. Enhanced manual sights are supplemented by a pair of lasers that allow for depth perception and improved accuracy. An accessory rail can be fitted on top to allow for a wide variety of scopes and illumination devices. Thank you very much for all the input and comments that helped evolve this piece of hardware. Hope you enjoyed viewing it.

Real nice. I like it a lot. Phlegm is right about the bore though, and I hope that's only a 2 pound trigger, or that's gonna require a week in the gym to be able to fire it. Seriously nice work

Thanks for pointing out the oversight on the bore, folks. I have corrected it and have re-rendered a final version and created a smaller diameter hole within the existing barrel. :o)

Great modelling and texturing, Moe. Damn nice gun. That bartender will have no problem dealing with those hooligan jedi that may visit.
