Ok Folks. I'm fairly new here. I do these images because I love to. However I see hundreds of views and only 1 or 2 comments. I post these here to get feed back so I can improve. If nobody posts I figure I suck or I'm so good you folk are aaah struck and speachless. Not likely. If you got a minute please post a reply. If you think it sucks say so. I only ask you tell me why so I can do better in the future. If you think it's great also tell me why so I can incorperate it in my next work. It takes alot of time to model this stuff and if you don't help me improve I'm wasting my time. Thanks

I think it's great. The only things I really noticed was the liquid spilled on the table looks too "solid" and the book's pages could use some texturing... but a fantastic render overall! I sure wish I could do work like that!

The best place to get feedback on an image is the forums. Unfortunetly the 3DStudio Max forum is really slow here at Renderosity. My suggestion for your image "Bad Chemistry" is to add an object that is not square or round, maybe a crumpled rag or break the vial into pieces. Plus the wall texture you have is nice but their are no shadows in the cracks, maybe you can apply a bump map to the wall or model actual bricks. It looks like Hyde splilled the antidote onto the table, but there is a whole container of it on the bunson burner. smerc ps It is a nice render.

First off thanks all for responding. All comments are welcome. I will see what i can do about making the spill more realistic. I agree on the brick. I usually build the bricks one by one. I tried to get away without it this time and it didn't work. I didn't even notice that everything is a primitive shape and you are right a more organic object would add to it. As for the spill and the whole container. My image was he just made it and took some. He is dropping it because he has just gone through the change from man to beast. I post here because this seems to be the best place to get enough exposure to even hope for feed back.

Just put a little bump on the hand and the book and it will be perfect.

I think its outstanding... i would love to know how you did the wood base of the glass holder. I agree the liquid could use work... i think just flattening it a bit and thinning the color... but what do i know ... your skill dwarfs me...

well did we get up on the wrong side of the bed sir?this is an awesome pic which I might add that it would take me days to do this in max where it took you a matter of minutes or hours am I right?so giving the proper feedback should come from a person who has way more experience at max than I do but here it goes...maybe add some stopper lids to the vials, the blue flame on your bunsun burner needs to be more visable, the shadows that are on the wall made from the book suggests that there is a light source coming from below the book and the way the shadow is pointing its right in front of it,also the shadows from the test tubes suggest the same thing at least to me thats what it looks like... the hair and hand are superb now if you can take what you did there and transfer it over to your poser figures you might have some awesome hair give it a try..keep up the great and excellent work cuz in the long run we all are still learning day no minute by minute and every bit of feedback is helpful so come on people lets get it in gear and make some comments lol.

Excelent. Did you do the hair on the hand manualy, or some sort of plug-in?

Thanks for the comment DarkFlame. The hair is done using the scatter feature in Max. I made 4 different hair strands and then used scatter to distribute them on the hand. Then I just adjusted the settings to get the look I wanted. You can find the scatter feature in the same menu as the boleen operations in Max R3.
