Noctem was a rather tragic character. A little boy born to a god of lies and illusions and demoness and so inherited dark power, though all he ever really wanted was a loving family. He controlled nightmares and Entropy controlled him. He was befriended by Edward and he had the life he wanted for a while until Entropy took complete control and turned him into a monster. He had to be killed to save the world from the force that controlled him and he was reborn as Diem, still with Entropy present, but locked away.
