I am a not-so-recent graduate of the University of Florida, with a business administration degree (Not that I'm particularly keen on getting into management, mind you, but it is very interesting stuff.) with minors in computer science and classics (How's that for diversity?).BIOSo... apparently, as you get older, you also get less and less time to do stuff like computer art, which is unfortunate, because it is something I enjoy tremendously. Hopefully, one of these days I'll find the time to get back into such things...
While I used to take copious pleasure in all things computer, working in the field in various capacities for nearly a decade led to a pretty serious case of burnout about a year ago, when I quit my web design job and took a job as a rookie prep cook at a gourmet bistro in my hometown of Jacksonville, FL. Now, almost a year later, I am one of the veteran night-shift line cooks at said restaurant and make my living preparing fancy (and expensive) food. Sure, there's not nearly as much money involved as there is in computer work, but as I've gotten older, I've discovered that enjoying your work is much more valuable than pulling a big paycheck.
Anyway, I'm hoping to get back into my artsty stuff again in the near future, so I figured this would be a good place to get myself plugged back into a creative community.
Hopefully, I'll see you on the message boards sometime soon!

Yeah, very good textures. Keyring could be a little brighter, and increase the image sampling. Keep up the good work.

I used a brighter material on the key ring in one of my earlier renders, but after comparing the result with the actual ring on my own key chain, I realized that my key ring is very dark and worn, barely shiny at all. I think I am going to redo this piece once I figure out a better texture for the fob that matches the worn look of everything else. BTW, rendered in Flamingo raytrace.
