Description
Wade awoke from the middle of a dream as his wife, Karen shook him gently.
"Wade!" she whispered to him urgently. "I hear someone in the house!"
Her fearful look had the same effect as a splash of cold water on his face.
Wade quickly, but quietly sliped out of bed wearing only his boxers.
"Karen, get the phone. Dial 911" he whispered to her as he looked around for something to use as a weapon. His eyes fell upon a solid oak cane.
Not a Louisiana Slugger, he though, but it will have to do.
He picked up the cane and just then, he heard a clatter coming from downstairs. He gripped the cane tightly and headed to the bedroom door. He gripped the handle carefully and painfully slowly turned the knob. As he slowly pulled the door open, it made a slight creaking noise.
Wade cringed as if violently struck. As he creeped out the door, he could hear a footstep at the bottom of the stairway. Wade could hear his own heart pounding in his chest as he stood against the wall and heard the steps getting closer. He gripped the cane tightly in his sweating hand.
Just one more step, thought Wade, and the intruder should be close enough...
This is the final render unless I decide to go back and play with it later. This was done as a challenge to see how much I could do with nothing imported into poser other than my own textures. All objects in this scene are created from regular Poser 4 props and characters. There was a little bit of postwork done to soften the image and add a little noise for some intentional imperfections. I also tried to add a couple scars and face deformities on the thug in postwork to make him a little uglier. Thanks for viewing. All comments appreciated!

its a little too dark to see any detail. Pick up the amient light som, and change it from purple to blue, is what I would do.

Hmm. Looks like my monitor needs a contrast adjustment - it looks fine on some computers I use, but definitely too dark on others.
