Description

Independent News Network 2nd May 2611 -Special News Update- Elements of the veteran 6th Fleet that were homeward bound from the war zone of the outer marches, arrived in the Vega sector just hours ago, and are now racing to the aid of their heavily outnumbered comrades of the 3rd Fleet who appear to have been hit in a surprise raid. A raid which then turned into a long series of running gun battles. They are now currently caught up in what may possibly be the largest fleet engagement of the entire war with the Coalition. Ships of the 3rd Fleet were patrolling the interdiction zone around the Vega system, set up after the Belt War of 2580 to prevent the expansion of the Vega Commonwealth, when they were attacked by a strong Vega force two days ago destroying at least two Federation ships and severely crippling three others. An ever increasing number of ships from the dispersed 3rd Fleet have been gathering around the stricken vessels ever since, in an attempt to defend them from a likewise ever growing Vegan force. It seems a game of numbers has developed. No Dayton-Aomori vessels are said to be present, but the Commonwealth do seem to be operating a number of new ship classes that are associated with Dayton-Aomori's new generation of navy. Defence Analysts had long suspected a covert link between the two old Corporations. Even before the open departure of Dayton-Aomori from the Federation's "Corporate Integration Plan", Fleet Command had ordered an increase in patrols around the Vega system in an attempt to find and destroy any secret navigation beacons that may be used to forge a trade link with D-A's home system of Khannis IV. As the conflict has unfolded and the alliance of the two Corporations has been revealed, it seems Fleet Command was indeed prudent to do so. Perhaps this engagement may be a signal that the 3rd Fleet has finally found what it has been looking for. The question is...can the arrival of the 6th make a difference? .: Credits :. I don't like sc-fi all that much, but even I have to admit when I see something so well done that it deserves praise. Great job and a very crisp and clean render.

Delicate and subtle depth and color, as well as the suggestion of varying rates of motion. Und after Grendel, Grendel's Mutter, hehe.
